Purposefully crafted
While spacious and well-appointed, the study at 70 Chester Square is also used as an access route between the reception room and sun room. The design of the bespoke desk responds to the need for privacy. Its unique curved form embraces the user, defines their domain and sits comfortably within this arc-shaped transition space. The exquisitely made desk is finished in a light timber veneer with antique bronze frame details and features an inset leather writing panel and bespoke drawer locks. It was manufactured by a British team of specialist craftsmen who also built several other key pieces in the house, including bedroom furniture and the dining room credenzas. Finding itself a new home on the bespoke desk is the original door knocker, which has been saved and repurposed as a handsome paperweight. |
